Default Anyone else get this sorta abuse?

Ive just come out of a party for the mission in 'The Thirsty River' and there was me and one other warrior. The stupid rangers didnt realise we cant actually attack something behind a fence and starting saying we werent helping. I get sick of people not realising that warriors have a hard job cuz they're first in line, get most of the attack and cannot fight things behind fences.

Grrr im in a bit of a stress, i did try and explain but all i got is immature abuse like 'u smell' and my fellow warrior also got abuse. So c'mon warrior people lets stand up proud

Not to worry; if they havent done Ring of Fire Missions yet, they WILL appreciate you...
Or Titan Quests...
Or FOW...
Or PVP...
Or GVG...
It'll balance out (besides, those DO sound like comments that came from little kids...)

Indeed...there are lots of kids in this game, and it's getting more...Today I saw a guild spamming something like "xxxxx Recruiting age 7-12 only, must have open-minded parents and webcam...."

Well, I don't mind playing with kids. But please don't keep whining, swearing, or spamming whisper messages when you got killed. Very often I have to go to DND mode or simply put them into ignore list...

Geez...

Not sure if I am being captain obvious or not, but shouldn't any behavior in game like that be banned?? or do you think maybe it was a joke...I don't know but that screams kiddie-porn and I don't think that is funny.

If this game is a ground for sexual predators..... /sigh

What is it about the Thirsty River mission that attracts idiots like flies to honey?

A few days ago I was on a mission team for it...all I wanted to do was cap Word Of Healing so I could run either type of monk on an oro farm...

I was running Mo/Me Boon/Prot...

Here's what the conversation looked like (I'd 55ed the mission before, very fast way to do it...I ended up Boon/Protting for this one):

Leader: What's a 55hp monk?
Me: I can tank and do damage at the same time.
Leader: We need a healer.
Me: We don't need a healer, you guys won't get hit because all the aggro will be on me, and I'm unkillable.
Leader: But we need a healer.
Me (after this conversation is repeated 30 times): Fine, I'll go boon/prot.
Leader: We still need a healer.
Me: No we don't, boon/prot is prot with healing, all of my spells will heal over 80hp every time and you won't get hit.
Leader: We need a healer.

Finally we get a healer, Mo/E... The healer uses Meteor Shower and Heal Party, nothing else ever...I kept the entire team alive while he stood there...and I almost didn't get to cap WoH (we killed the monk boss last).

Come on, you guys are tanks...you can take a few people telling you "u smell"...

I do sympathize with you though, it gets really really really (continues line of "really"s for 10 pages) annoying when nobody understands what you do even after you tell them AND show them.

I always wonder why other professions (especially monks) think they can tank better than warriors. Granted, the guy didn't sound like he knew what he was doing (or talking about), but I'll take a good warrior tank, since, after a while, I get tired of seeing everyone running away after trying to "tank" for 30-45 seconds, or droping like a ton of bricks, with NO warning (1 minute they're up; next minute, they're down)....

they were reported several times that day for this comment and later for making several highly offensive racist comments. Hopefully we won't see this jerk around anymore.

You'll always find idiots no matter which profession you play. Much like there are tons of wammos, I don't hold it against the w/mo that actually have a brain. There are rangers who insist that they can run anything, but when they try they fail. Monks who frequently join up in large groups going on strike, when the smart ones know better not to join them. And it goes on like that. Like I said you'll always have idiots.

Let this be a lesson, NEVER go to cap WoH in Thirsty River. Seriously, Elona + henchman ftw.

That and just never tell people your builds before you go in

You think half the groups in ToA would let me in as the healer if they knew i was running Arcane Thievery just to keep myself amused?

This entire discussion could have been avoided if only you'd been carrying a bow - like a good warrior.

That's right, and that extra point of damage per shot would've taken them down super fast. Of course, it WOULD probably have shut up the people who don't realise warrior limitations. So if that was your point, then I'm an ass and nevermind. But if not, warriors don't have a bow for damage, just for pulling.

I was really just poking fun at the OP, but yeah - i'd bet money it would have shut the antagonists up if he had just pulled out his bow and participated in the long-range fight.

You want me to help kill the guys on the other side of that fence? Fine.

I think the reason why we are so underappreciated is cus there are so many of us lol. I just did the Ring of Fire missions and adverised everything i could think of so i could find a group, but since warriors are in abundance and monks are scarce we dont get the credit we deserve.

No one can tank *better* than a warrior, but with any other profession you can tank nearly as well as a warrior. I did an Oro run a while ago (as a bonder) with a ranger holding with the gear, it worked just fine and her health never dropped below about 75%.

The caster classes that are tanking with 55 hp are really fooling themselves if they think they are better than a warrior because it is not as reliable (maybe they think they are fooling you...). On the other hand my ele is a monster tank with things like kinetic armor, armor of earth, and some monk spells. Still, I like doing the real tanking jobs with my warrior just because it is more reliable to use stances than it is to use enchantments.
